ChatGPT, Grok, and Claude all went down at the same time
OpenAI’s ChatGPT, xAI’s Grok, and Anthropic’s Claude are all experiencing issues. At around 11AM ET, ChatGPT started returning error messages for users trying to use the chatbot, with its status page saying there are currently “elevated errors across ChatGPT and Codex.” ChatGPT, Grok, and Claude all went down at the same time The three chatbots are currently experiencing issues. In addition to preventing users from having conversations with ChatGPT, the outage is also affecting logins, file uploads, voice mode, search, deep research, image generation, and more. Users began experiencing problems with Claude around the same time. While Anthropic’s status page indicates Mythos/Fable 5.1, Mythos/Fable 5, Opus 5, Opus 4.8, and Opus 4.6 were initially impacted by an outage starting around 10:30AM ET, the company now says it’s only affecting Opus 4.8 and Opus 5. Grok is similarly experiencing an outage across its app and on the web. The company says it’s “working on restoring service as quickly as possible.” It’s not clear what has gone wrong, or if the issues are somehow related. OpenAI says it has applied a mitigation and is “monitoring recovery,” while Anthropic’s status page says that it’s “continuing to work on a fix.” The Verge has reached out to OpenAI, xAI, and Anthropic with a request for comment but didn’t immediately hear back.
