French Tax Authority Hacked, Data of Nearly 700,000 Taxpayers Stolen
France's tax authority has been hacked, with the data of nearly 700,000 taxpayers stolen. The attack took place at the end of June but was only discovered this week, after the hacker group came forward with a claim.
The Ministry of Finance said Wednesday that it received a claim from a "malicious player" about a hack at the tax authority. An investigation followed, confirming the cyberattack and the theft of data. How much the hackers demanded has not been made public.
The website French Breaches, which documents cyberattacks in France, reports that the data of 678,437 taxpayers was stolen. The platform says it received the data from the hackers. The Ministry of Finance has not yet responded to that figure.

That's why I hate being in databases of governments and stuff. It will leak someday.
But I can't wait for someone to leak "deleted data". I do not believe at all that everyone does GDPR.
