21 projects won't fix healthcare
Just scrolled through that "21 projects" list. Another round of press releases dressed as innovation. Atmo Biosciences catching flatus for diagnostics? Sure, that's novel. But let's be real: most of these projects will die in pilot purgatory or get acquired by a big pharma that buries them. I spent last week debugging a FHIR integration. The gap between these shiny press releases and actual EHR interoperability is a chasm. Half these "solutions" will hit a wall of legacy systems held together by tape and HL7 v2. No one talks about the data plumbing. The climate-conscious angle is a nice checkbox. But ask yourself: what's the carbon cost of the cloud infrastructure running these AI diagnostics? We're shipping terabytes of imaging data to train models that might never see production. That's not sustainable. The real innovation would be building systems that actually talk to each other. But that doesn't sell well in a press release.
