Groom Dies on Way to Own Wedding as Best Man Loses Control of Car

A man has died on his way to his own wedding after the best man driving the car lost control in southern Belgium.

The accident happened around 13:30 in Libin, a municipality in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium. The groom was a passenger; the best man was behind the wheel. Multiple Belgian media report that the best man lost control of the vehicle, according to the Belgian public prosecutor's office.

Emergency services from Neufchâteau and Libramont rushed to the scene, but nothing could be done for the groom. The best man was injured and taken to hospital.

The bride now faces the loss of her partner on what should have been the happiest day of her life. The best man will carry the trauma of the crash for the rest of his life.
