Water Sprays Out of Traffic Light After Underground Leak

An unusual sight in Den Bosch on Saturday morning: water gushing out of a traffic light for pedestrians and cyclists. The likely cause is an underground leak.

Passers-by saw the striking scene and had to rub their eyes to check whether they were seeing it correctly, but water really was spraying from the traffic light. Because of the water flowing through it, the light is no longer working properly. It keeps blinking, although it still shifts from red to green and orange.

The municipality has been notified and has sent water company Brabant Water to the site. Once the water problem is resolved, work will begin on repairing the traffic light.
