Dog from Dutch Town Eats Six Pairs of Underwear, Vomits Them All Back Up

A dog from the Dutch town of Nunspeet has made a full recovery after swallowing six pairs of underpants in an incident that veterinarians are calling "quite exceptional."

The dog was rushed to Dierenkliniek Nunspeet, where staff administered an emetic to induce vomiting. The animal proceeded to throw up all six garments, one by one. An ultrasound was performed afterward to ensure nothing remained lodged in the stomach or intestines.

According to a clinic spokesperson, the dog was feeling much better the very next day. While dogs eating underwear is apparently not uncommon in veterinary practice, consuming half a dozen pairs in one sitting is remarkably unusual.

The clinic did not disclose the breed or size of the dog, but noted that the animal is expected to make a full recovery with no lasting effects - though it may think twice before raiding the laundry basket again.
