Need out

Last week I got sick and had to take a few days off. Fever is gone, but I still have to take some ibuprofen before bed and I'll still wake up at 2am with all the muscles in the top part of my chest horrifically sort and hurting. More pills and I'm good until morning and it's completely sore again when I wake up. After an hour or a shower it's totally fine. I'm not sure why my upper body muscles get inflamed constantly. It was in my lower chest and been moving up, so hopefully my body will finally destroy whatever infection is still in my muscles.

I'm required to be in office three days a week but only did two this week because of all the pain and because the VP is out of the country. I HATE being in-office. There's no point. Only the managers are there; 100% of my staff are remote. It's also so damn loud. In other shops they put developers next to other developers. Here I'm around people talking to truckers and shops. Directors don't get offices so I hear my very loud director behind me all the time when I'm trying to call my staff. I've never had to constantly mute/unmute for calls at any other job, due to background noise. It's no where near as bad as my first job where my office was in the call center, but it's not ideal.

The major project I'm on is pretty much set up to fail. It's insanely massive in scope to replace an old IBM system. It has to integrate with the current spaghetti of ancient services that have evolved like a 20 year old cancer. Also our primary database is Mongo, unironically, because everyone before me making decisions was an idiot.

Story refinement sessions are me talking with zero push back or feedback from any developers. I constantly tell people to let me know their design ideas or suggestions and get nothing. My staff is all juniors, and the few seniors just rubber stamp things or can't design critically. One dev comes back from medical leave next week who is a good designer, and I might be able to get him transferred to my team, but maybe not. Even then, I don't have enough good people and this project is insanely complex.

I've only got one interview so far and I'm not confident about job prospects. I need out though. I hate the office, I'm making way under market and the politics of this company are insane.
