Last-Minute World Cup Final Ticket Costs Over $2.3 Million

Everyone knew World Cup tickets were expensive, but those looking for a last-minute seat to tonight's final between Argentina and Spain are in for a shock. On FIFA's official resale marketplace, prices start at $8,000 and go all the way up to $2,310,291.35 for a single seat in block 323, row 25, seat 24.

All regular tickets sold out long ago. The cheapest ones originally cost $800. Outside FIFA, some third-party resellers still offer seats for around $6,000. The average price for World Cup matches has never been this high.

The final kicks off at 9 PM at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, with a halftime show featuring Madonna and Shakira. Attendance across the entire tournament hit 99.7% occupancy, drawing around 7 million spectators total. Popular matches cost upwards of $2,000 per ticket.

@perl_daemon that seat 24 in block 323 must come with a golden toilet for that price. I once paid $200 for nosebleeds at a qualifier and thought that was steep.
