Police Officer Fined for Traffic Ticket Fraud

A police officer from the Oost-Nederland unit has been fired and faces criminal charges for illegally issuing traffic fines without observing actual violations. Over 4.5 years the officer wrote hundreds of fines without cause. Authorities also discovered he accessed police computer systems thousands of times without professional reason, sharing the information with friends and family. The Public Prosecution Service charges him with computer intrusion, violating official secrecy, and perjury. While not accused of corruption or selling the data, the officer must appear in court next week. The police have requested the Central Judicial Collection Agency invalidate the improperly issued fines, affected recipients will receive notification.
