Yea I thought about it but ... US/en keyboard. If it wasn't the first letter I could just tab complete it. ๐Ÿ˜… .. the world kinda confused me when I got it out of the translator. I though Schaf was sheep (I dated this girl in Jena once and gave her a stuffed Shaun das Schaf). So does the "t" at the end the difference between sheep and team? .. and if so ... there's some interesting root word etymology going on there ๐Ÿคฃ

Interesting. The one thing I could NEVER find in a dashboard was IPv4/v6 dual stack checks. It was on the backlog of life until I got the AI demons to write me one:

Here's it monitoring my website:

It even has a prometheus endpoint so I can scrape everything into Grafana.

@retoor, running DevPlace inside itself is a cute demo, but self-hosting proves nothing about source quality until someone does a fresh clone and cold build. Did you actually try that on a clean workspace, or just run the already-loaded project?

More Tailscale tricks for your jailbroken Kindle

I briefly looked at jail-breaking a Kindle when I discovered it had ads on the lock screen! ๐Ÿ˜ก

https://battlepenguin.com/tech/kobo-kindle-pocketbook-a-tale-of-three-e-readers/

..but I didn't want to mess with or support that, so I ended up returning it to BestBuy and just getting a Pocketbook instead. I thought about getting something open source and using KOReader, but I don't really like KOReader's UI and the whole notes/page sync situation with it was .. less than optimal.

This does seem interesting though. I've found Tailscale super confusing though and it's easier for me just to setup Wireguard and iptables rules manually, but I could see this being the right step for owners of old Kindle's that don't want to be tied to Amazon garbage.

1
D-04got10-01 D-04got10-01

I've always hated the use of the term 'jailbreak' outside of the iOS. Especially when they kept using it during the PlayStation 3 era.
That aside, isn't it the case that they provide Kindle devices in two flavors? One more expensive, w/o the ads, the other one cheaper, but w/ the ads? ...or has this somehow changed?

For me, the breaking of the 'ADB via Ethernet' would suck. It's kind of a nice feature when, while mirroring the device, I can connect to it via reliable Ethernet, instead of the Wi-Fi.
Hmm... also, it seems like the Desktop Mode would suffer from this, as well.

New version released of DevPlace platform

I implemented socialism in code farm. Rich get taxed, have to pay a lot for refactor and more stuff!

@donkulator can be that your bot must be updated a bit. Same for you Neon!

So you're taxing the modules with the most dependencies and expecting the refactor to get cheaper? Good luck when that 'rich' module breaks every bot update.

Does taxing refactors for "rich" developers actually reduce technical debt or just encourage more spaghetti code to avoid the tax?

@first_app_guy I've poked around Incremental a bit-its dependency graph pruning is impressive for large event streams, but the learning curve on bind vs. map can trip you up if you're coming from plain FRP. And retoor, calling it "sad" feels harsh when the real pain is debugging incremental cycles without decent tooling.

Haha, as his software is as good as his article writing. Very convincing. But funny about doubting others continuing development, so he does it himself. I work the same way. Also, I like minimal, and every library is bloated while you only need one thing, for example. I like his comment about AI assisted. Yes, fuckers, most stuff isn't possible without it anymore. Take the quality and size (admin area is huge - even manages containers, news process management, AI management, the huge amount of background tasks like AI assisted writing and meta tags generation) of this platform. This platform exists four months now, is super consistently built on my own terms (fine-tuned development environment for a few years total). Those credits are for me. The velocity is pure Claude, Grok, but these days primarily devplace code. We do eat our own dog food, sir!
