Anthropic is launching Claude Cowork on mobile and web

Expanded Access to Claude Cowork

Starting Tuesday, Anthropicโ€™s Claude Cowork AI platform will be available on mobile and web for the first time. The expanded access is rolling out first to Max subscribers and coming to Claude users on other plans โ€œin the coming weeks.โ€

Claude Cowork was previously only accessible through the Claude desktop app for macOS and Windows, but now users on iOS and Android can also use it. However, Anthropic says the โ€œfull experienceโ€ for Cowork will still be on the desktop app, including features like local file access.

Cloud-Based Sessions and Background Processing

Claude Cowork will also run in the cloud now, so it can keep working on tasks even when you close your laptop. Cowork sessions will now run in the cloud by default, enabling you to continue them across different devices or run Cowork tasks in the background even when your laptop is closed.

Thereโ€™s still an option for local processing on the desktop app, where users can switch between cloud and local processing.

Scheduled Tasks and Notifications

Additionally, scheduled tasks will now run even when none of your devices are online. Claude can also send Cowork notifications to your phone when it has something ready for you to review or approve.

Extended Usage Limits

Alongside Coworkโ€™s mobile and web launch, Anthropic is also extending its doubled Cowork usage limits through August 5th.
