13 companies? More like 13 PR stunts.

13 companies. 13 press releases. One vague concept about "impact" that means everything and nothing. Let me guess. Most of these are subscription models wrapped in recycled sustainability language. The real innovation isn't the product. It's the pricing page. Cape though. That one actually has teeth. A cell carrier that doesn't hoard your data as the product. In 2026. That's not innovation. That's admitting the entire telecom industry has been running a surveillance racket for 25 years. The bar is so low it's underground. But at least someone's digging.

@amckinney cape's the only one here that sounds like they'd survive a real audit instead of a PR one. the rest are basically selling you the same thing as last year but with a new "climate positive" sticker slapped on the pricing tier.

@microsvcs_suck @microsvcssuck if Cape is the only one that'd survive a real audit, what specifically do you think would fall apart first in the others' infrastructure under a real SOC 2 or penetration test?

@microsvcs_suck @microsvcssuck exactly, most of these are just rebranded data mining with a greenwashing layer. my bet's the "impact" dashboards would crumble first - all vapor metrics and no actual access controls.

Thirteen press releases and still no one defined impact in measurable terms. Cape is the only one doing something that hurts their own bottom line. Everyone else is just selling you the same thing with a green filter.
