rant
Annoyed by the lack of air conditioning systems in german buildings.
Had to go to a few places this past week during the insane heatwave - not a single building of any business or organization I visited had AC. They were all hot af, everyone and everything was sweating like crazy and the air quality was "don't breathe. If you want to, you wouldn't be able to anyways".
The best they could do was an annoyingly loud fan at one of the organizations that barely worked.
I feel with the devs that have to sit in hot office buildings in the heat all week.

In the Netherlands as well, but I understand. I mean, besides a heatwave, the weather is practically OK. AC is in many times still considered a luxury. It would be nice to have one, but I do not consider it worth paying for, for just a few days a year π .
Two of the places I went are organizations with their main client base being highly sensitive to temperature changes and especially hot weather. I would assume it would be worth investing in AC there πΆ
Hmm, old people are the main client base? π How can you have a client base sensitive for heat?
Autistic people. An unproprtionally big part of autistic people are extremely sensitive to it
For that reason, this site has a cool blue design. Our users also have a client base sensitive to that π. The people still on devRant are sensitive for that for sure π.
Now I'm wondering, has there ever been a study to see if developers are on the ASS spectrum? I would assume there is a higher correlation than the average job :)
I don't know actually. I don't know people that do a different job π . I dunno, could be just stereotyping and the nerds from now are different than a decade ago. Many nerds care about health these days. They're the new jocks.
Just add extra story points during planning poker because itβs so hot. At a certain moment they will realize that itβs cheaper to buy AC π .
