Neo-Nazi Who Changed Gender to Mock the Law Sent to Men's Prison
A German neo-Nazi who legally changed her gender to female but is still being sent to a men's prison will begin serving her sentence after being extradited from the Czech Republic.
Marla-Svenja Liebich, 55, was convicted of incitement to hatred and sentenced to 18 months. After having her gender officially changed on her passport, she insisted on serving time in a women's facility. She was supposed to report to a women's prison in Chemnitz last summer but failed to appear and was arrested in Prague in April.
Upon arrival in Germany, prison authorities immediately decided to place her in a men's prison instead. Saxony's Justice Minister Constanze Geiert praised the decision, stating that Liebich "plays tricks and games with the justice system" and only transitioned to make a mockery of transgender laws, not because she genuinely identifies as a woman.
