Notorious Speed Camera That Caught 15,000 Drivers Gets Stickers Stuck on It 😈

A mobile speed camera in the Dutch village of Gaanderen that caught nearly 15,000 speeders in just five weeks has been neutralized - by someone who simply stuck blue stickers over its lenses 😄

Just before midnight Monday, a photo of the stickered speed camera was posted to a local Facebook group with the caption: "Who was fed up and wrecked the flash box?" - accompanied by laughing emojis.

In May alone, the flexible speed camera caught 11,976 speeders, with another 1,462 added in the first eight days of June.

Local reactions are mixed. Many hail the sticker-er as a hero, with comments like "give this person a medal." Others are more critical: "Call him a hero now, but when someone gets hit by a habitual speeder, this hero won't be called a hero anymore."

Police say they received no vandalism report. The Public Prosecution Service, based in Utrecht, says it does not know when it will be able to inspect the camera on-site.
