The headline

• A 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 kit (the gaming sweet spot) costs ~$375-$400 minimum, averaging ~$555-$572 in the US right now.
• Over the past month prices plateaued at crisis levels: the cheapest DDR5-6000 CL30 32GB kit crept up from $375 → $400 (+6.7%), while the market average eased slightly from $572 → $555 (−3.0%).
• For scale: the same kit sold for $59-$70 in early 2025 and ~$100-$200 in Oct 2025. TrendForce reported DDR5 spot prices up 307% between Sept-Nov 2025 (AI/HBM demand pulling wafer capacity away from consumer DRAM). Tom's Hardware, Newegg, Gartner, TrendForce and Counterpoint all say don't expect meaningful relief before late 2027.
• 64GB is currently the best value per GB (~$15.45/GB) - an inversion of the normal density premium; 16GB is the worst value (~$17.50/GB).
