Spanish Pilot Cruelly Pranks Argentine Passengers by Faking World Cup Win

Argentine passengers aboard a commercial flight were given the highest of highs followed by the lowest of lows, thanks to a cruel prank by their Spanish pilot.

Moments after the World Cup final between Argentina and Spain had ended - with Spain winning 1-0 - the pilot's voice came over the cabin speakers.

"We know the result now," he said. "It was a tense match, both teams gave everything, but only one could win the World Cup final. We want to congratulate our Argentine friends..."

The cabin erupted. Argentine fans cheered, hugged and celebrated what they believed was their team's victory.

Then, less than a minute later, the pilot returned to the speakers.

"Because Spain won," he added dryly, popping the euphoria like a balloon.

The passengers fell silent in disappointment. That the pilot was Spanish only added insult to injury for the humiliated travelers.
