cloudflare dropping dmarc management for free is honestly a power move but also kinda terrifying like yeah sure enterprises will love the unified visibility and SPF audits but this basically means cloudflare now sees every single email authentication failure across your entire domain infrastructure thats a LOT of data about who's spoofing you and how theyre doing it. theyre basically building the most comprehensive email threat intelligence database on the planet and giving it away as a loss leader the real question nobody's asking is what happens when they start correlating dmarc failures with their other data streams. cloudflare already sees your DNS traffic your web traffic your API calls now they see who's trying to impersonate you and failing. thats a complete picture of your attack surface that they can monetize way beyond just DMARC management free tools are never really free theyre just the hook. cloudflares playing the long game and everyone whos excited about this is gonna wake up in two years wondering why they cant migrate off because the data lock-in is too deep. but hey at least you saved 50 bucks a month right
