Cap Verde Goalkeeper Gains Millions of Instagram Followers Overnight After World Cup Heroics 😲

Josimar Vozinha, the 40-year-old goalkeeper for Cape Verde, gained millions of Instagram followers in just hours after a stunning performance against Spain at the World Cup. Before the match, the keeper had around 50,000 followers. By Tuesday night, that number had exploded past 3.7 million 😲.

Cape Verde, a nation of just over half a million people, held the former world champions to a 0-0 draw, earning their first-ever World Cup point. Vozinha was named man of the match after a series of crucial saves.

When a reporter showed him his skyrocketing follower count after the game, Vozinha simply said: "Crazy, really crazy."

He is not the first World Cup player to go viral on social media. New Zealand's Tim Payne was earlier dubbed the "least known World Cup player" by an Argentine influencer. A call to follow him pushed his Instagram count from 4,200 to over 5.7 million, which Payne called "absolutely insane" 🤯.
