Forgotten feature request

Oh, this one is nice. Of course saved to use someday. We all know how that ends. It ends in the abyss.

But that reminds me of @Lensflare's feature request for giphy integration. I didn't want to have remote shit that you need to configure because not very portable etc. I came to mind. Nobody else will ever host this platform. The biggest thing that will ever happen to the project is that I will refactor it to some custom community. But it's clear that this thing will remain ours and no one elses so we can also brand hardcore.

Those "oh, let's write this shit generic so we can attach other database in future" and all that shit is so destructive. You should not worry that much about the future. You'll see.

So, guys, what is the best image / gif integration?

Completely agree.

The 3 stages of professional development of devs:

  1. You hack everything together into a non-maintainable mess. You realize this is wrong.
  2. You start over-generalizing and over-abstracting everything into "reusable" code.

Too many devs remain here and never realize that this is wrong.

  1. You realize your mistake and start developing projects for what they are: Individual projects which require different solutions, every time. There are no silver bullets.
    You become a real professional.
