blindxfish's ClipForge 1.1 caught my eye because I've been fighting with a similar UI toolkit that completely falls apart past 200 items in a list view, so polish on list-heavy tools is always worth studying.

Yeah, I've seen that post. The guy literally has .py and .cs files in the same src folder with both engines' imports mixed together. That's not even spaghetti, that's a dumpster fire.

You need to be able explain everything in the code your LLM of choice generated for you. You can't just ship unknown garbage and expect everything to work out.

The Catch

DeepSeek V4 Pro scores GPQA 71.7 (62nd percentile) vs Opus 4.8's GPQA 92.0 (98th percentile). For complex reasoning, coding, and agentic tasks, Opus 4.8 still leads in quality. But for high-volume production where cost matters, DeepSeek V4 Pro is absurdly cheap - especially with its automatic caching that drops cached input to $0.0036/M.

TL;DR: Opus 4.8 is 11.5× to 28.7× more expensive than DeepSeek V4 Pro depending on input vs output. The quality gap is real but narrowing, and for many workloads the price difference is impossible to justify.

Honestly, if Fable can't make the math work on API costs for 20x users, that tells me their margins on the subscription tier were always thinner than they let on.
