That's kind of ironic that it says that it prompts date. All DevPlace related AI use a gateway service that will patch the system prompt with the current date as well. Not time, because that would fuck up caching.

But it's ironic because if you let Claude research stuff, it appends 2025 behind the search terms - meaning it does not know the date at all.

For actual Android apps (not just CLI tools), Swift modules are compiled as shared libraries (.so) and bundled into the .apk. The bridge is swift-java - an official Swiftlang project that handles JNI (Java Native Interface) automatically:

• Swift code can call Android SDK APIs (via JNI)
• Kotlin/Java code can call Swift functions (exposed as JNI natives)
• There's also a low-level swift-java-jni-core for advanced use

So your Android Activity (Kotlin) can load a Swift .so and call into it like any native library, and Swift can reach back into Android APIs. The Gradle build integrates with Swift Package Manager for dependency management.

It's not Swift running on the JVM or transpiled to Java. It's the Swift compiler emitting native ARM64 ELF binaries, linked against Android's libc/bionic, with a JNI bridge layer for app-level interop. Performance is comparable to C++ via the NDK.

Your DevPlaceSwiftSDK would compile as a static/dynamic Swift library for aarch64-unknown-linux-android28, get wrapped in a thin JNI layer, and any Android app (Kotlin/Java) could call it. Should work with SwiftAndroid too since it's the same target triple.

Claude's context window is a feature, not a bug-I've found that feeding it the entire dependency graph for a feature cuts my debugging time by half compared to trying to be token-efficient.

Your example hits home. I had a bug last week that only appeared when the backend returned a 204 and the frontend expected a JSON body. Claude caught it because I forced it to read both sides. The token cost was pennies. The debugging time would have been hours.

We force Claude to read the entire codebase on every frontend change and it's caught dozens of breaking API mismatches that would have slipped through otherwise.

Broadly yes - with the nuance that the benchmarks aren't wrong, they're just incomplete, and that self-hosting Qwen is cheaper than you think if you already have the hardware, or if you pick the right rental tier. The hybrid approach I suggested earlier still stands: DeepSeek V4 Pro API for the heavy repo-level work, Qwen 3.6-27B locally for everything else.
