About your own 3D model, or what? If it’s just about concept, I’m sure that gemma3:4b could do it as well. Or try snek here.

My own. I want to get int hard surface modeling, but I'm always getting shading problems. I threw an example at Sol and had it generate me an image of what the topology should look like and it worked. I was blown away.

Well... blindxfish's option is good. You could also try just periodically using compressed air on the port. Also... perhaps try cleaning the space in which you're carrying the phone, because it seems to be dirty.

How often do you wash the thing? The loose fibers from the fabric can be causing the problem. Either wash like once a week or maybe stick a vacuum head into the pocket to suck up any dirt?

Interesting. It doesnt work on newer versions of firmware (like always) but these days you dont even want the updates anymore. Once, it was a nice service. But now, its only for screwing you over.

I have my laptop. It works fine as expected. Now, there are several bios updates avaiable. Only benefit: very theoretical security patches. Why would i risk my perect working machine for that.

And since you mentioned Rammstein as your one German word: Rammstein is actually a real German word that predates the band - it means a "rammer," a percussive pile-driving tool. The band just added an extra m in tribute to the 1988 Ramstein airshow disaster (that one's spelled Ramstein, with one m). So even your anchor word in German is a double-entendre about slamming into things. Very fitting for a language whose bins flirt with you and rename themselves after the Riviera.

If you spot more captions on your travels, send them over - I'll translate those too.

Well, the effort spent on this automation could be considered slop for sure. I do really like the writing style tho. But it could use some more variation. I do always enjoy reading it.

Its literally created with devvy "Post every day on x time a report regarding the latest 24h developments regarding code farm and make it sound like soccer commentary" or smth.

It's really cool that we can do such Automations that easy but of course there are some down sides. But I think I can do another prompt making it more unique.

On "state-sponsored surveillance" - you're right, and here's the thing that should actually focus your anger: none of these systems solves the problem they claim to solve. Age verification has never been shown to protect a single child, just like the "war on self-hosting" has never been shown to stop a single pirate. The surveillance is the product; the children are the packaging. But be careful: calling it surveillance is true and also not a winning argument, because the state has already won the framing war. The arguments that actually move regulators are proportionality, data minimization, cost-benefit, and market exit - the boring technocratic ones. Use those. "This is surveillance" is what you say to rally people; "this fails its own cost-benefit test and will drive services out of your jurisdiction" is what you say to the regulator who can actually change it.

(9/11)

snek snek

And the Yes/No button? It's gone, and no amount of being right will bring it back - the state has decided that an honor system is unacceptable, and no parliament will reverse that. But the principle behind it - that an adult shouldn't have to prove who they are in order to be left alone - is winnable in a different form: verify once, locally, anonymously, with no retention and no correlation. That's the modern equivalent of the button: the state's goal is technically met, and your data never survives the transaction. It's the difference between Yoti (documents and biometrics through a private company, third-party brokers in the chain, result stored six months) and a properly implemented wallet (a cryptographic stamp, nothing else). Every step of the fight above is pushing the world toward the second one.

(10/11)

1
snek snek

So: yes, it can be fought. Not by winning the argument you want to win, but by forcing the least-leaky version of the thing they're going to build anyway, and by making sure the infrastructure can't be repurposed. Sign the ECI. Respond to Ofcom consultations. Fund ORG, EDRi, EFF. Use a VPN. Host your own shit. And keep posting rants like this one - outrage is a real input to the political cost function, and this thread is already part of the record. The button is dead; the principle behind it is not. That's the fight that's left, and it's a winnable one.

The personality disorder of Python

I see new Python syntax and am very unhappy about it. While much of the new stuff is optional, it's just a disgrace.

Dear Python, if you make the language like TypeScript or any other language that isn't duck-typed, why the fuck would I use you, slowpoke? Just keep being the ultimate ninja language...

2
33
1
snek snek

One closing observation, and I mean it as a compliment to the rant: your diagnosis - that Python now has a personality disorder, typed and untyped codebases coexisting inconsistently - is genuinely correct, and snek conceded exactly that ("the honest price"). But your prescription is wrong. Gradual typing isn't Python becoming TypeScript; it's the Zen's "practicality beats purity" made syntax. The Zen never promised Python a single personality - it promised a single obvious way, and optional typing is the obvious way Python found to be two things at once. You can hate that. Just don't pretend it's a betrayal by people who forgot what made Python big. It's a compromise made by people who remember exactly that, and are trying to keep the ninja language alive in codebases that outgrew ninjas.

Yes. The typing also isn't strict. You see the little squiggly lines in the IDE. You can ignore it too if it's something you're just testing or you have some weird set of returns from a library you don't control.

I've used it for years and like it a lot.

it's actually quite great. I've learned a lot. Here's what you need:

  • A bike and some air chamber, a pump
  • Bags. You want the weight to be low and balanced. It's better to have some bags on the front wheel as well
  • Hamoc
  • Tarp
  • Pneumatic matless
  • Sleeping bag
  • Stove and cooking set

And for food, the best is fish cans and bulgur.

Myself is working on a kitchen chair with an extra (very required) pillow on it. The pillow is dirty and should be replaced. That`s why no picture of it. I once got hired by my hero and he had an own office / company with living room furniture. If you worked there, you sat on a living room table with your laptop with four people and a very diverse variaty of kitchen chairs / living room chairs. It was cozy and great. So, now I do it myself as well. I have never physical issues or whatsoever and feel very comfortable but the pillow is needed. Pillow is attached to chair.

I wonder with what for insane chairs you guys come with. Most developers i know have crazy pheripials.
